Nowadays, we are used to watching various digital versions of movies and TV shows, and it seems that few people buy discs to watch them. However, judging from the sales of the theatrical version of "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train", there is still a market for physical discs in Japan, and it is a big market.

According to the Mainichi Shimbun, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train was released on Wednesday this week, and 804,079 discs were sold on the first day, breaking the Japanese Blu-ray/DVD weekly sales record this year. Among them, there are 268,490 limited edition Blu-rays, 201,895 standard edition Blu-rays, 115,499 limited edition DVDs, and 218,195 standard edition DVDs. The limited edition discs come with exclusive illustrations, soundtrack CDs, and bonus DVDs.

On the second day, the film sold 173,146 sets of Blu-ray and DVD discs, and on the third day, the sales volume was 96,945 sets. In other words, the total sales volume of this theatrical disc was 1,074,170 sets in three days.

Sales exceeding one million in three days is a good result for DVD and Blu-ray, and also reflects the popularity of "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba".
