The box office of the animated film "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" in Japan exceeded 40 billion yen and nearly 30 million people watched the movie

According to Japanese media reports today on May 24, as of the latest domestic box office statistics in Japan as of May 23, the animated film "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" released in October 2020 had a box office of 40.01694 billion yen in Japan, and the total number of moviegoers reached 28.97 million, which is close to about one-quarter of Japan's total population.

"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train" is adapted from the manga "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" by Koyoharu Gotouge. It was released in Japan on October 16, 2020, and broke the film history record of "Spirited Away" with the fastest box office of 30 billion yen.

"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train" has also swept North American box office records since its release in North America on April 23, and has earned 4.8 billion yen as of May 21.

·The latest domestic box office of the other two popular films, "Neon Genesis Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) End" as of May 23, was 8.54 billion yen, and "Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet" was 6.4 billion yen.
