Borderlands movie plot reveals Edgar Ramirez will play villain

Recently, Lionsgate announced that Edgar Ramirez will join the game-adapted movie "Borderlands" and play the villain Atlas. Foreign media IGN speculates that the character is the founder of Atlas Weapons. Atlas is a business tycoon and weapons manufacturer, and is "the most powerful person in the universe."

The Borderlands movie is directed by Eli Roth, written by Craig Mazin, produced by Lionsgate, and executive produced by game company Gearbox Software. Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart co-star.

IGN said that the official plot seems to be somewhat different from the game. In Borderlands, players have never seen Atlas. In Borderlands 2, Atlas is under the control of Hyperion and Handsome Jack. In Borderlands 3, Atlas Corporation is transferred to Rhys.
