Resident Evil reboot heavily inspired by horror master John Carpenter

Recently, the rebooted version of "Resident Evil" was officially named "Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City". It has nothing to do with the previous "Resident Evil" movie. It is adapted from the two games "Resident Evil 1/2". Classic characters such as Chris, Claire, Jill and Leon will appear. This new adaptation will start a new series and will be directed by horror film director Johannes Roberts himself.

Johannes Roberts said that the rebooted film focuses more on the horror atmosphere than the last Resident Evil film, and a major location in the film will make people shudder. "The most important thing about this movie is the tone. The reason why I like Resident Evil games is that they are scary, and this is what I want to do," Roberts said. "The scene in the game where it keeps raining and the darkness is creepy. I want to add this kind of game atmosphere to the movie."

Roberts says his inspiration for the Resident Evil reboot came from the work of John Carpenter, but not in the way you might think.

"I'm a big fan of John Carpenter and I like the way he tells these claustrophobic siege movies, such as Blood on Precinct 13 and The Fog, which describe the stories of different characters coming together under siege. This is where my inspiration comes from."

Roberts also said that the scenes of the Resident Evil reboot will include Raccoon City, the police station and the Spencer Mansion. "We have two completely different locations, and the characters enter them separately. The police station part is like a zombie siege-style movie, and the mansion part is creepy."
