Behind the scenes of the movie "Tom and Jerry": Using 2D animation is a tribute to the original

The live-action animated film "Tom and Jerry" will be released in mainland theaters on February 26. Warner officially released a behind-the-scenes special of the film today (February 19), explaining why it used the method of real people + 2D animation to present this audio-visual experience to the audience.

Behind the Scenes Special:

Director Tim Story said: "Tom and Jerry is one of my favorite cartoons, and the animated characters must be 2D. Because the classic animated version is 2D, we can make them look the same as before. But at the same time live in a 3D world. We think this is the best way to pay tribute to the cartoons of the past."

The live-action version of "Tom and Jerry" tells the story of Tom and Jerry coming to the bustling metropolis of New York, and the girl Kayla, played by Moretz, has just started working at a luxury hotel when she encounters a problem - Jerry, a mouse, wants to settle down in the hotel, which puts the century wedding that the hotel has recently undertaken in jeopardy. So Tom is hired by Kayla to become a hotel employee to drive Jerry away, and the old enemies are at odds again.
