Variety reviews the top 15 TV series in the world outside the United States in 2020: "The Bad Kids" is on the list

The old authority Variety has selected the top 15 TV series in the world (outside the United States) in 2020. Following "Story of Yanxi Palace", another domestic drama made the list - "The Bad Kids". Also on the list are the popular British drama "Normal People" and the Korean drama "Crash Landing on You".

"The Bad Kids!" ranks second on the list and is the only Chinese drama on the list. The English title of the drama, "The Bad Kids!", is a direct translation of Zijin Chen's original work "Bad Kids."

When introducing the series, Variety also specifically mentioned the director Xin Shuang's identity as a "former rock star" and the series' unique soundtrack. Perhaps many domestic viewers don't know that this web series, which features frequent "yin music", was directed by a genuine former guitarist of Joyside.

Variety also wrote this: " Since its premiere in June, the show has been hailed as one of the first Chinese TV series to truly compete with foreign series in terms of storytelling, photography and performance. "
