To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteers' going abroad to fight in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, "The Battle of Shangganling", my country's first feature film about the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, has been "reborn" and has reappeared on the screen after being exquisitely restored in 4K. It has recently been screened in Nanjing and Beijing, and will continue to be screened in many cities across the country in the future. Trailer for the 4K color restoration of "The Battle of Shangganling": Historically, the Battle of Shangganling was one of the most brutal battles in the entire War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. The revolutionary heroism of the volunteer soldiers who were ready to die made "Shangganling" a synonym for bravery and tenacity, and it has since become the eternal spiritual height of the People's Army and even the Chinese nation. More than 60 years ago, the black-and-white feature film "The Battle of Shangganling" shot by Changchun Film Studio, which was based on this battle, caused a sensation as soon as it was released. This was my country's first film about the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. The film was adapted from the film literary script "Twenty-Four Days", which tells the story of the Eighth Company of a certain unit of the Volunteer Army, led by Company Commander Zhang Zhongfa, holding their ground and fighting bloody battles with the enemy during the Battle of Shangganling.
