Street Fighter live-action movie director confirmed, release date set for March 20, 2026

According to foreign media Hollywood Reporter, the live-action movie of "Street Fighter" has finally found a director. He is Kate Sakurai, the director, screenwriter and executive producer of "The Eric Andre Show". He has been appointed as the director of the live-action movie of "Street Fighter". The film is developed and distributed by Legendary Pictures. Capcom is deeply involved in the production and is scheduled to be released on March 20, 2026.

In June 2024, the original Street Fighter live-action film directors Danny Phillip and Michael Phillip announced that they would withdraw from the film production due to scheduling issues, and Legendary Pictures would look for a new director. In the same month, without confirming the director, Legendary Pictures announced that the film would be released on March 20, 2026. Until now, the director of the film has not been officially confirmed, which is only 13 months away from the release of the film.
