In Doctor Strange 2, Benedict Cumberbatch will continue to play the protagonist, and Benedict Wong and Chiwetel Ejiofor will also return, playing Wong and Karl Mordo again. Elizabeth Olsen is said to be connected to the plot of the film in the Disney+ Scarlet Witch spin-off series, so she will also return to the big screen. At present, the TV version of Scarlet Witch may be the only Marvel Universe work this year. The last time there was no Marvel Universe movie for a whole year was in 2009.

In a recent interview, Cumberbatch said that filming will start in "late October or early November", so relevant information about the film may be leaked in the future.
