"The New Mutants" made $7 million in North America in its first week, the best performance since March

According to foreign media reports, the Marvel superhero thriller "The New Mutants" earned about $7 million over the weekend, after Thursday's preview revenue of $750,000. This is much higher than the $4 million earned by Russell Crowe's new film "Unhinged" last weekend. According to Box Office Mojo data, the entire US cinema earned about $11 million last weekend.

In North America, the film grossed $7 million in 2,412 theaters in its first weekend, creating the highest first weekend box office since the mid-March epidemic lockdown. It is worth mentioning that only 62% of theaters in North America have resumed operations, and each show is limited to 25%-50% of seats.
