Beijing subsidizes 232 cinemas with a total of 20 million yuan, with the highest subsidy amount being nearly 500,000 yuan

According to a recent report by Beijing Daily, in order to effectively solve the practical difficulties faced by theaters, Beijing has allocated 20 million yuan from the film special fund as a special subsidy for theaters during the epidemic. On August 5, the Beijing Municipal Film Bureau released the "Public Notice on Special Subsidies for the Epidemic" through its official website, and 232 theaters in the city will enjoy this subsidy.

It is reported that the special subsidy for the epidemic will be provided according to the box office output of the theaters in 2019, with appropriate tilt towards small and medium-sized theaters that are more affected; the Beijing Municipal Film Bureau, together with the Municipal Finance Bureau, has collected and reviewed the preliminary subsidies and determined that 232 theaters will eventually be eligible for subsidies, with the highest subsidy amount being nearly 500,000 yuan.

Since Beijing's cinemas opened in an orderly manner on July 24, the film market has gradually returned to normal operation. The special subsidies for the epidemic will effectively boost confidence in the film market, help cinemas overcome temporary operating difficulties under the normal conditions of epidemic prevention and control, and promote the city's film market to recover as soon as possible.
