Disney's original animated film "Raya and the Last Dragon" poster reveals Southeast Asian cultural background

Disney recently released the promotional poster for its original animated film "Raya and the Last Dragon", which is based on Southeast Asian culture.

"Rhea and the Last Dragon" is an epic fantasy adventure film set in a kingdom called Lumandra, an area inhabited by an ancient civilization. Five families make up this land of dragons, and the heroine, Rhea, will embark on a journey to find the last dragon.

Cassie Steele will voice Rhea, a fearless, passionate and charismatic warrior who sets out to find the last dragon. Awkwafina will voice Sisu, a water dragon that can transform into a human. The film is directed by Paul Briggs (Big Hero 6, Frozen) and Dean Wellings (A Clockwork Story, The Princess and the Frog), the script is written by Keir Murray (Cars 3) and produced by Osnat Shuler (Moana).

The animated film, which is not a musical, will be the first original animated film from Walt Disney Animation Studios since 2016's "Moana."

"Raya and the Last Dragon" was originally scheduled to be released on November 25, 2020, but due to the epidemic, the release date has now been postponed to March 12, 2021.
