Ubisoft announces it will develop a film focusing on the story of an elderly e-sports team

Recently, according to foreign media reports, French game company Ubisoft announced that it will develop a new film focusing on the story of an elderly e-sports team.

The film, inspired by a 2019 Wall Street Journal article titled "Is the Next Generation of Competitive Gamers ... 60 and Over?", follows the formation of the team, which began as a marketing concept for Lenovo and later became a real esports team.

Ubisoft will work with Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, screenwriters of the film "Super Sized," and Ubisoft senior vice president of film and television Jason Altman and development director Margaret Boykin will oversee the project.

It is understood that Ubisoft has been busy creating various film and television works in the past two years. Earlier this year, it also launched the comedy series "Mythic Quest: A Feast for Crows" for Apple's streaming media Apple+. Ubisoft is currently producing the game adaptation movie "The Division" starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain.
