The protagonist of the animated film "The Witcher: Wolf's Nightmare" is not Geralt

For this movie, the official has not announced much information, but there is a small amount of information about the plot of this film, including the news that the protagonist of the film will be the demon hunter Vesemir.

Players who have read the novel or played the game of The Witcher 3 know who Vesemir is, but he did not appear in the TV version of The Witcher. Only Geralt mentioned him. Vesemir is to Geralt what Geralt is to Ciri: a mentor and a father figure. However, the animated film does not intend to describe this part. According to the introduction, Netflix plans to show the events that happened before Geralt was born in the film: "Long before becoming Geralt's mentor, Vesemir was adopted by a mysterious man named Deglan through the Law of Accident."

It seems that The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf will be the origin story of Vesemir, telling a story that is not even mentioned in the original novel. So I don’t know if this movie will be included in the canonical system of The Witcher, but the cooperation between Lauren Hissrich, the producer of The Witcher TV series, and the original author Andrzej Sapkowski is closer than CDPR.
