Lee Mendelson was a famous American television producer. He served as executive producer and created many animated specials of the Peanuts comic strip. Many people may not know him very well, but the protagonist of the Peanuts comic strip, Charlie Brown, and his beloved dog Snoopy are household names. After a long battle with lung cancer, Lee Mendelson died at home on Christmas Day at the age of 86.
