Sato Takeru stars in Rurouni Kenshin: The Final Chapter, two chapters to be released next summer

The movie "Rurouni Kenshin: The Final Chapter" starring Japanese actor Takeru Sato will be released in Japan next summer. The final chapter is divided into two parts. The release date of "Rurouni Kenshin: The Final" is July 3, 2020, and the release date of "Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning" is August 7, 2020.

According to the plot of the "Rurouni Kenshin" manga, the final chapter should be about the origin of the scars on Kenshin's face, as well as the recollections of his life with his deceased wife Yukishiro Tomoe and his confrontation with Yukishiro Enishi.

"Rurouni Kenshin" is a Japanese manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1994 to 1999. The author is Nobuhiro Watsuki, and there are 28 volumes in total.

The story begins in the early Meiji era of Japan, and later incorporates themes from the Akahōtai and Shinsengumi, and the assassination of Ōkubo Toshimichi on May 14, 1878 also became one of the sources of the story. The film version incorporates elements related to the Boshin War, the Aizu War, and some of the Satsuma-Choju Alliance and the Anti-Immortalisman Patriots.
