When talking about The Wandering Earth 2, director Guo Fan said that he expected to spend another three to four years on the script, world view, and concept design, and another year on preparation and then filming. The creation of the sequel will focus more on the emotions of the characters, and the art effects will be more refined.

According to director Guo Fan, if everything goes according to plan, including the shooting time, we may not be able to see the release of "The Wandering Earth 2" until at least five years later.

In addition, director Guo Fan admitted that "The Wandering Earth" is just a passing score in the world science fiction series, and he hopes that the second part can get 10 more points, reaching 70 points.
