Martin changes his tune on Marvel movies: amusement park movies are a new art form

Recently, there have been constant controversies about director Martin Scorsese's discussion of Marvel and other superhero movies. Recently, he was asked about this topic again at the premiere of his new film "The Irishman". He said: "Let's put it this way, a family wants to go to an amusement park, which is of course good, so there will be such a movie presented in the amusement park. This is a new art form. It is different from the movies usually shown in theaters, that's all."

Director Martin continued: "What I am worried about is that a large number of amusement park-style films will dominate the screen, so I emphasize again that this is their own new art form. Today's cinema (filmmaking art) has changed. We have many bases and venues, and there are more ways to make movies. So enjoy it. Okay, no problem, it's good for you to attend events and participate in activities like amusement parks, but don't exclude filmmakers like Greta Gerwig, Paul Thomas Anderson and Noah Baumbach. Don't do this. I'm talking about cinema."
