A new animation of "The Quintessential Quintuplets" has been confirmed. The news was announced at the "The Quintessential Quintuplets 5th Anniversary Event". The new work is titled "The Quintuplets＊" and tells the story of Fuutarou Uesugi and the five sisters on their honeymoon trip. It is designed and fully supervised by the original author Haruba Nong, and the specific launch date will be announced later.

"The Quintessential Quintuplets" is a romantic comedy manga created by Haruba Onion. The story begins with the protagonist Fuutarou Uesugi marrying one of the quintuplets of the Nakano family in the future. The story of how Fuutarou met the five sisters is reviewed in flashback, and the wedding scenes are interspersed many times afterwards. In August 2018, the animation was announced to be adapted by Tezuka Production. The first season aired in January 2019, and the second season was postponed due to the impact of the epidemic and aired in January 2021.
