The voice actor of Disney's legendary Minnie Mouse died Friday at the age of 75

According to official news from the Walt Disney Company, Russi Taylor, a Disney legend and the actor who voiced Minnie Mouse for many years, died in Glendale, California on Friday local time at the age of 75.

She began voicing Minnie more than 30 years ago and has lent her voice to hundreds of Disney projects, including television animations, Disney theme park experiences, animated shorts, movies, and more.

"With the passing of Russi Taylor, Minnie Mouse has lost her voice," Bob Iger, chairman and president of the Walt Disney Company, said in a statement on Saturday.

"For more than 30 years, Minnie and Russi Taylor have worked together to bring joy to millions of people around the world, making Minnie a global icon and Russi a Disney legend beloved by fans around the world.

We are so grateful for Russi’s talent and the tremendous inspiration and joy she brought to all she did. It was a privilege to have known and worked with her. We are comforted that her work will continue to bring joy and inspiration to future generations. Russi will be deeply missed, and our hearts and deepest condolences are with her family and friends.”

The characters voiced by Russi Taylor are not limited to Minnie. We can hear her voice in many classic animations, including "The Little Mermaid", "The Simpsons" (including the movie), etc.

"I personally have never wanted to be famous," she once said. "The roles I've played have been well-received by everyone, and that's enough for me."
