Detective Pikachu beats Warcraft to become highest-grossing video game adaptation

The live-action spin-off of "Pokémon" "Detective Pikachu" has been released around the world and has earned a lot of box office revenue. As of July 14, the cumulative box office of "Detective Pikachu" in North America has reached 143 million US dollars, and the cumulative global box office has reached 436 million US dollars.

"Warcraft", which previously topped the list of game-adapted movies, had a final box office of $433 million, which also means that "Detective Pikachu" has defeated "Warcraft" and become the highest-grossing game-adapted movie in history.

In fact, Warcraft's revenue in the United States ultimately fell far short of Detective Pikachu's - less than a third of the latter - but it performed very well in the international market, especially in China.
