Masaaki Yuasa's "Riding the Waves with You" was nominated for Shanghai Film Festival Animation Feature Film

The new animated film "Riding the Wave with You" by the famous Japanese animation director and producer Masaaki Yuasa will be released on June 21, 2019. The film was recently announced to have been nominated for the Best Animated Feature Film at the "Shanghai International Film Festival (2019)", so stay tuned!

"Rising with You" (きみと、波にのれたら) tells the story of Hinako Mukaimizu, a freshman who came to a seaside city to attend college. In this new and exciting stage of her life, she meets a firefighter with a strong sense of justice because of a fire, and they go surfing together and learn about life.

People often feel that they are "drifting with the flow" in their work and life, and how to control the ups and downs of the waves instead of letting them control them is a question worth thinking about in life. The film is scheduled to be released on June 21, 2019. The male lead Hina Poppy Port is played by Katayose Ryota, and the female lead Mukaimizu Hinako is played by Kawaei Rina.

The Shanghai International Film Festival (2019) will be held from June 15 to June 24. "Riding the Waves with You" has been nominated for the Best Animated Feature Film.
