It is reported that the outline of the sequel has been completed, and the first promotional poster was also exposed at the previous Hong Kong Film Festival.

Since the main actors of the film, including Jet Li, Zhang Min, Qiu Shuzhen, Sammo Hung, Gigi Lai, etc., are all old, Wong Jing plans to use new actors to play the leading roles. Wu Lei plays Zhang Wuji, TVB star Zhu Chenli plays Zhou Zhiruo, and Adam Cheng plays Zhang Sanfeng.
