Dante Lam confirms that the sequel to Operation Red Sea may be ready as early as next year

Dante Lam was nominated for Best Director at this year's Academy Awards for his work on Emperor Entertainment Group's film Operation Red Sea. According to recent reports from Hong Kong media, when asked if he would make a sequel, Lam generously revealed: "Yes, we are in talks, in contact and planning, and it will be done as early as next year."

"Operation Red Sea" is an action film produced by Bona Film Group Co., Ltd., the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy Television Art Center, etc., directed by Lin Chaoxian, written by Feng Ji, Chen Zhuzhu, and Lin Mingjie, and starring Zhang Yi, Huang Jingyu, Hai Qing, Du Jiang, Jiang Luxia and others.

The film tells the story of an eight-member team of the Chinese Navy's "Jiaolong Commando" who were ordered to carry out an evacuation mission. The commandos split into two groups to carry out the rescue, but unfortunately they were ambushed and suffered casualties. At the same time, they won a tragic victory in crushing the shocking conspiracy of the rebel armed leader.

"Operation Red Sea" eventually grossed 3.648 billion yuan at the box office and won multiple film awards, with Dante Lam being nominated for Best Director at the 38th Hong Kong Film Awards.

Currently, "The Rescue", also directed by Dante Lam, is about to be released. He said in an interview: "In fact, each movie will accumulate certain experience for me. It seems that the "Rescue" I am shooting now is also trying new things. I hope to accumulate relevant practical experience, which can make me more mature when I start shooting "Red Sea 2"."
