The trailer for the remake of "Saint Seiya" was released and the sudden transformation into a beauty caused controversy

Recently, Netflix released a Chinese trailer for its remake of "Saint Seiya: Warriors of the Zodiac". The remake will make all the characters in 3D, but Netflix's changes to the character settings have caused controversy.

In the original version of "Saint Seiya", Shun is a male, but he is kind, sentimental, and feminine, and is often mistaken for a female. However, the Netflix version of "Saint Seiya" changed Shun into a female, which caused many fans to complain.

Netflix's screenwriter explained this, saying that the reason for setting the character of Shun as a female was to avoid the stereotypes of 30 years ago.

However, the explanation given by the screenwriter does not seem to convince fans. Some netizens think that the screenwriter does not understand "Saint Seiya" at all and it is wrong to turn Shun into a female. Some netizens also think that the 3D version has destroyed the original art style and the dubbing is not satisfactory.

Netflix's Saint Seiya: Warriors of the Zodiac will premiere in summer 2019.
