Marvel superhero "Black Panther 2" is officially on the agenda! Black director returns

According to foreign media reports, the superhero blockbuster "Black Panther" released by Marvel this year has achieved great success in both word-of-mouth and box office, and the production of the sequel "Black Panther 2" has been officially put on the agenda. Ryan Coogler, the director of the previous film, was recently revealed to have officially signed a contract with Marvel and confirmed to return as director and screenwriter.

The film is not expected to start shooting until late 2019 or early 2020. Marvel and Disney have not yet officially announced any plans for films after Avengers 4 (released in May 2019) and Spider-Man 2 (released in July 2019), so the schedule may be adjusted.

Black Panther has grossed $1.35 billion worldwide and $700 million in North America, ranking third in North American box office history and ninth in the world, almost becoming a cultural phenomenon. The film is currently making all-out efforts in the awards season, hoping to win at the Oscars early next year.

As for the cast, Black Panther 2 has not officially announced anyone yet, but the lead actor Chadwick Boseman is expected to return.

Foreign media Variety also revealed: There is still more than a year before the filming of the sequel begins, and Coogler may seize this gap to shoot a smaller film. He wants to remake "12 Angry Men", but it is not clear whether the project will be done before or after "Black Panther 2".
