Previously, the Gintama manga had announced that it would be concluded on September 15 this year, with the last chapter published in Weekly Jump. However, now the author Sorachi Hideaki has stated that Gintama may not be concluded for the time being. Sorachi Hideaki wrote a letter to comic fans, explaining the current situation. Although Gintama will no longer be published in Weekly Jump, the manga has not ended. Sorachi Hideaki explained that Jump has a rule that requires authors to tell the editorial department six months in advance about their completion plans, and then all preparations for the completion of the manga begin. Obviously, his completion plan does not meet this rule. Sorachi Hideaki said: "In the case of Gintama, I have always misunderstood this rule, so for the past three years I have been saying 'It can't be finished yet'." Gintama will move to Jump Giga, a supplement to Weekly Jump, which will be published monthly with more pages each time, and the final story will be told here. "I wanted to tell you the final story on Jump, so I'm really sorry that I didn't handle it well." This is the reason that Sorachi Hideaki publicly stated that the series was not completed. As for what kind of story is behind it, we don't know. |
