The sequel to Sherlock Holmes 3 will see Watson and Holmes reunite after many years

Not long ago, Robert Downey Jr. tweeted that he was preparing for "Sherlock Holmes 3", and Jude Law, who plays "Watson", also hinted at the direction of the sequel's story in a recent interview with "Entertainment Weekly".

Jude Law said: "We want to move the story forward, and as always, the essence of the story is their interdependence. We look at that - it's been a few years since we last saw them - and we want to show that, and they haven't seen each other for a long time."

This passage hints at the reunion of Holmes and Watson in the third film, which will take place after they have been apart for a few years, and a brand new adventure will begin after that. As for what happened to Holmes after he fell from the waterfall and pretended to die at the end of the second film, it will also be explained.

The film will officially start shooting next year, with Jude Law as Watson and Rachel McAdams as Erin returning! The film is scheduled to be released in North America on December 25, 2020.
