According to foreign media reports, George RR Martin, author of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series of novels, said that the novels will not blindly follow the adapted plot of the HBO series "Game of Thrones". This is good news for some fans, as at least some of the deaths that occurred on the show will not appear in the books. Now the author pointed out in a Reddit conversation that HBO's Game of Thrones killed many more people than he had planned, and he does not think the TV series will be a draft for future books. Martin said that HBO made some content changes that allowed the plot to develop faster than he expected, and that The Winds of Winter will be published at least two years later than the series. In addition to Martin, artist John Picacio also appeared on the stage. He was not afraid of anything and asked Martin a question directly - "Which part of "The Winds of Winter" have you written? How will the plot develop?" Martin quickly replied, "Still writing it." He then added, "Still writing it. Trust me, you'll know when it's finished." It is not clear when The Winds of Winter will be published, but Martin's other book about the history of the Targaryen family, Fire & Blood Volume 1, will be released on November 20 this year. The final season of Game of Thrones is scheduled to return next year. |
