Queen returns: The director of "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" may direct "Maleficent 2"

According to foreign media reports, Joachim Ronnie, the director of "Pirates of the Caribbean 5", may join the Disney fairy tale blockbuster, the sequel to "Maleficent", "Maleficent 2", and the starring Angelina Jolie has confirmed that she will return to the film.

The 2014 film Maleficent was inspired by Disney's 1959 animated film Sleeping Beauty and tells the untold story of the villain Maleficent. The film grossed $758 million worldwide that year.

"Maleficent 2" will start shooting in the first quarter of 2018. There is currently no news about the return of Sleeping Beauty "Princess Aurora" played by Elle Fanning.
