Lionsgate's live-action movie "Naruto is still alive" recently found a screenwriter

Lionsgate announced plans for a live-action adaptation of Naruto in 2015, and Variety recently reported that the film had recently found a screenwriter: Tasha Huo, the screenwriter of the animated version of Tomb Raider. The Naruto movie will be her next project, and it is confirmed that it will still be developed by Lionsgate.

The original Naruto manga is very long, with a total of 700 chapters, telling a complete story. A manga of the same length is One Piece, whose live-action TV adaptation was a huge success on Netflix and was renewed for a second season. Since both works focus equally on action and adventure, the upcoming film adaptation is likely to achieve the same success.

However, the reason why One Piece Season 2 was confirmed is because the first season was faithful to the original work. In order for Naruto to be a live-action movie, Tasha Huo's script needs to reflect Kishimoto's original work and keep the story and characters intact. This will make the movie appeal to both those who are familiar with the series and new audiences who want to see a live-action version.
