Tetsuo Hara recalls the secret of creating "Fist of the North Star" and can draw for 20 hours a day

The legendary manga masterpiece "Fist of the North Star" is believed to be the nightmare of countless people who had just come into contact with this type of comics. Its ubiquitous violent and hard-core scenes of severed limbs and blood spurting made every friend palpitate and fascinated by it. Recently, the manga's artist Tetsuo Hara was interviewed and recalled the secrets of the creation of "Fist of the North Star". He talked about the origin of its creation and that he could draw for 20 hours a day without feeling tired.

He made his debut at the age of 21 with "Iron Don Quixote", but remained unknown.

The turning point in his fate came from the editor-in-charge Nobuhiko Horie (who later became the editor-in-chief of JUMP), who suggested that he switch to drawing "Kung Fu" works.

I still remember that Nobuhiko Horie gave me some advice, asking me to do something different, such as activating the “key meridian points” to make the human body explode.

I began to be unable to imagine the relationship between acupuncture and human body explosion.

·My ability to write stories was very limited, but later I met Buronson and after exchanging ideas, we hit it off.

On September 13, 1983, “Fist of the North Star” was officially released and began serialization, which quickly became an explosive craze.

When comics were popular, I sat still almost every day, drawing desperately for 15 to 20 hours a day.

·Because the first work was a huge failure, he thought that "Fist of the North Star" must not fail again and he never tired of it.
