Zack Snyder Interested in Directing Rick and Morty Animated Movie

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Dan Harmon, co-creator of the hit animated series Rick and Morty, revealed that renowned director Zack Snyder is enthusiastic about the film version.

According to Harmon, the Justice League director requested a meeting to discuss a possible Rick and Morty movie. Harmon said that the director did not want to take full control of the project himself, but just wanted to help out as a fan. He said: "He didn't say 'I'm going to do this', but 'Is there any way I can use my Snyder style to help start this movie?'"

Harmon also joked, “So, the Rick and Morty movie will come out when Zack Snyder comes back from vacation, because I want to put out the Snyder cut straight from the beginning, and then put out my cut, so we can make a six-hour Rick and Morty movie, three hours of which will be in black and white.”

While there are no official plans for the film at this time, Harmon said that conversations with Warner Bros. executives made it feel like "it was time to get started." Although there was no script or outline, Harmon said, "My idea was, this is a Rick and Mortyd adventure, but spend a ton of money to stretch it to 90 minutes."

Rick and Morty Season 7 premieres on October 15. A 70-episode follow-up is already in the works, and there's also a community-made movie on the way.
