New stills from Moon Rebels were originally from the Star Wars movie

The sci-fi blockbuster "Moon Rebels" shot by Zack Snyder for Netflix was originally a "Star Wars" movie. Judging from the stills released by "Empire" magazine recently, "Moon Rebels" still looks very much like "Star Wars".

Recently, Empire magazine released the first-hand stills of this sci-fi movie, which has a Star Wars flavor. One of the photos has a particularly obvious Star Wars flavor: a woman wielding two glowing red blades, reminiscent of the Sith in the Star Wars movie.

Considering that Moon Rebels was heavily influenced by Japanese director Akira Kurosawa, IGN believes that Moon Rebels may have similarities with the upcoming Star Wars series Star Wars: Bellboy, which was also inspired by Kurosawa.

In an interview with Empire magazine, Zack Snyder insisted that Moon Rebels could not be a Star Wars movie. He told Empire magazine that there were many reasons why the project did not come to fruition.

He said: "Lucasfilm had just been acquired by Disney. At that time, there was a window period, and no one knew what might happen.

I was like, 'I don't want any of your characters. I don't want to use any known characters, I just want to do my own thing.' At first I was like, 'It should be rated R. ' That was almost impossible."

"The more I explored it, the more I realized it might never be what I wanted it to be," he said.

This feeling was previously expressed by "Wolverine" director James Mangold, who recently said that his attempt to make an X-rated "Star Wars" movie was slowly losing momentum.
