John Wick: Hope to include the lead actors of Peaky Blinders in the sequel

In an interview with The Direct, John Wick director Chad Stahelski revealed his dream cast for a fifth installment in the series.

“It’s a long list, but the first thing that came to my mind was Cillian Murphy,” Stahelski said. “I’m a big fan of Peaky Blinders. So, you know, I always thought Cillian would be a good fit.”

In addition, "The Batman" may have had some influence on him, and the Penguin is also on his list of actors he hopes to get. He added: "Colin Farrell is great. When Charlize Theron was filming "Atomic Blonde", I watched it and I thought, 'Oh my God, I have to work with this woman. She's amazing.'"

"I did a commercial with Michelle Yeoh a few years ago and I've loved working with her ever since. I'm a big fan of hers."

This list must be his "dream list" because he also mentioned "Iron Man" Robert Downey Jr., "A Song of Ice and Fire" stars Peter Dinklage and Sean Bean, and "Birds of Prey" actress Jurnee Smollett, who recently starred in the TV series "Devil's Land."

Stahelski added: “I think some of them are really great and I would die to get a chance to work with any of them.”

"John Wick 4" set a series record in its first week, with US$73.5 million in the United States and US$64 million worldwide, for a total of US$137.5 million. Although the director and starring Keanu hope to give the series some "rest" to avoid aesthetic fatigue, the studio will not miss this opportunity.

Two spin-off series have been officially announced, namely "Ballet Killers" and "The Continental". "Ballet Killers" will star Ana de Armas and tell the story of a dancer who becomes an assassin for the Russian Roma crime family. It is scheduled to be broadcast in spring/summer 2024. "The Continental" has now released a trailer and is a prequel to the series, mainly focusing on Winston and Charon's power struggle in the New York underworld. It is scheduled to be broadcast in November.
