Tom Cruise receives US Navy's highest civilian honor

Tom Cruise received the Navy's highest honor for civilians: the Navy's Distinguished Public Service Award & Medal, which was awarded in recognition of his "outstanding contributions to the Navy and Marine Corps" and the public awareness he has raised in the films "Top Gun," "Born on the Fourth of July," "Golden Times," and "Mission Impossible." The award ceremony was held in London because Cruise was working in the UK.
