Recently, Jon Bernthal, the actor who played Frank Castle/Punisher in the Netflix version of "The Punisher", confirmed that he will return to Disney's new series "Daredevil: Rebirth" and continue to play the role. Disney+ has already renewed the series for 18 episodes. The series will be produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, the creators of Covert Affairs. Charles Cox, the star of Netflix's Daredevil, will also return to play Matt Murdock/Daredevil, while Vincent D'Onofrio, the experimenter of the villain Kingpin, will also continue to play the role. According to Hollywood Reporter, while Frank Castle will be joining the new series, actors Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, who played supporting roles in the original The Punisher as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, will not be participating. "Daredevil: Rebirth" was first announced at the San Diego Comic-Con last summer. The new series will not be a continuation of the Netflix series, but will attempt to introduce Netflix heroes into the MCU Marvel Cinematic Universe in a different way. These heroes will include Daredevil, The Punisher, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the Defenders, an organization formed by several people together. |
