Ranked third in film history! Avatar 2 has box office exceeding 2.3 billion US dollars

"Avatar 2" has now officially exceeded $2.343 billion at the global box office, which means it has surpassed "Titanic"'s $2.242 billion to become the third highest-grossing movie in history.

Disney shared a video celebrating the milestone, showcasing the support fans from around the world have shown for Avatar 2 and the key moments that made it the third highest-grossing film of all time.

Avatar 2 grossed $657 million domestically, just surpassing Jurassic World to become the ninth highest-grossing film of all time in North America. Its overseas box office totaled $1.586 billion.

After "Titanic", "Avatar 2" will turn its attention to "Avengers 4: Endgame". It will be a tough battle, as the 2019 super movie earned $2.799 billion in box office worldwide.

If Avatar 2 wants to become the highest-grossing film of all time worldwide, it will have to surpass the original Avatar ($2.923 billion) from 2009.

Even if it doesn't surpass Avengers 4 or Avatar, it's still an impressive achievement. Avatar 2 has already given James Cameron the first, third and fourth spots on the all-time box office charts, with Avatar, Avatar 2 and Titanic, respectively.
