The reputation of "Ant-Man 3" is only 55% on Rotten Tomatoes at the beginning

Recently, the foreign media's word-of-mouth ban for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Tide (Ant-Man 3 for short) was lifted, and Rotten Tomatoes opened with 55% (121 reviews), making it the second MCU work to fail Rotten Tomatoes after Eternals (47%). Ant-Man 3 scored 50 points (40 reviews) on MTC, while Eternals scored 52 points (62 reviews).

The following are excerpts from the media reviews of Ant-Man 3

Good reviews

Entertainment Weekly: 83 points

At 120 minutes—a blink of an eye in Marvel time—this Ant-Man is clever and entertaining enough. After all, who better understands that going small can win the day?

CNET 72 points

Welcome back, little superhero. Ant-Man’s main superpower is Paul Rudd’s outsized charisma, and his main weakness is that everyone disparages him—even the creators of his own movies.

The Wrap

The film provides both immediate and long-term threats, is passable as a Solo movie, and is a satisfying preview of where the MCU is headed next.

Medium Review

RogerEbert.com 63 points

Is it a must-see? No. But it’s a lot of fun for the hour in between, with that lighthearted feel that’s only Ant-Man can have.

SlashFilm 60 minutes

All in all, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is an interesting entry in the Marvel Universe that finally starts to feel like the "new saga" is going somewhere interesting.

Negative reviews

CNN

Ant-Man 3 works on one key level: establishing Kang the Conqueror as a truly powerful and worthy villain. However, the film falls short when it comes to depth of inner life, as well as everything else that matters.

Associated Press

Jonathan Majors (Kang the Conqueror) is certainly chilling and charming, but Kang seems like a mismatched foe for a solo Ant-Man movie, and the result is that Ant-Man 3 tries to be too many things.

Telegraph 40 minutes

For a series that was in need of an update, this movie is by no means a huge leap forward.

The Globe and Mail 23 points

The entire film has a cheap CGI feel and looks like it was shot on a first-generation iPhone. It’s aesthetically vacuous and soul-destroying.
