James Cameron becomes first director to have three films gross over $1.5 billion each:

"Avatar": $2.92 billion

"Titanic": $2.2 billion

"Avatar 2": $1.54 billion

It is worth mentioning that the current box office of "Avatar 2" has surpassed "Avengers" and ranks ninth in the highest box office history.

Cameron recently told THR that Avatar 2 has already made a profit and that three sequels will be made.

"I can't step back from this yet, I have to do these other sequels. Now we've started this series, we've started a legend that will be told through multiple movies."
