James Gunn responds to DC Universe adjustments: We can't please everyone

Yesterday, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news: "Wonder Woman 3" is in trouble because it is inconsistent with the direction of the new plan and is in name only; it also hinted that the characters and stories set up by the previous leadership (Zack Snyder Universe) will be completely ended, and "Man of Steel 2", "Aquaman 3" and "Black Adam 2" may all be aborted.

Today, DC Films co-CEO wrote a long post on James Gunn's social media in response: "Some of this news is true, some is half-true, some is false, and some we haven't decided whether it is true or false."

“Although the first month at DC has been fruitful, it takes time to build the narrative for the next decade, and we are just getting started. Peter and I knew when we chose to take over DC Films that we were coming to an environment that was difficult to control. Both in terms of storytelling and serving the audience. As we begin to tell a complete story across movies, TV, animation, and games, there will be an inevitable transition period.”

“But ultimately, the flaws of the transition pale in comparison to the opportunities to build on what has worked so far in DC and correct some of what hasn’t.”

"We know we can't please everyone, but we're committed to doing everything we can to serve the stories and characters that you hold so dear to your hearts."

"For more rumors about the future of the DCU, I regret to ask for your patience. We need to give these characters and stories the necessary time, and we ourselves have many questions to ask and answer."
