Marvel's Blade movie has found its new director. THR reports that the upcoming reboot will be directed by Yann Demange, who helmed the pilot for HBO's The Devil's Land. In addition to the director, the new Blade movie has also confirmed screenwriter Michael Starrbury, who will write a new script for the film. Yann Demange and Michael Starrbury replaced Bassam Tariq, who left the project in September this year due to creative differences. Tariq's departure prompted Marvel to suspend the project and reschedule it. It was reported that Starrbury was chosen as the new screenwriter for the film, and the lead actor Mahershala Ali also had a lot of say in the process. Director Demange's new Blade will be a darker and more realistic film than the usual MCU movies. The "New Blade" movie was announced in 2019 and was originally scheduled to start shooting this month. It belongs to the fifth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. |
