The Chinese drama "Zongheng Chip Ocean" starring Huang Xiaoming and Wang Ou tells the story of China's semiconductor industry

Today (September 23), the full cast of the domestic TV series "Zongheng Xinhai" was officially announced: Huang Xiaoming plays Zhang Haichao, Wang Ou plays Huang Linxi, Zhang Chao plays Li Dongsheng, Shi Shi plays Ouyang Zixia. Aarif Lee, Ling Zhuo, Zeng Meihuizi, Huang Cailun, Xue Atu and others also participated in the performance.

"Zongheng Chip Sea" is adapted from the novel "Moonlight Code" published in the literary magazine "Harvest" in early 2021. Before deciding to write this work, the original author and screenwriter of this drama, Yu Lulin, went deep into the semiconductor industry to better present the characteristics of chip practitioners, interviewed and collected real examples of dozens of typical figures in the field of integrated circuits in China, such as the founder and CEO of Spreadtrum Communications, and nearly 100 practitioners.

"Zongheng Chip Sea" tells the story of a fishing boat equipped with a Kebao navigation system that disappeared at sea. Zhang Haichao overcame the technical problems with his superb mental arithmetic ability, but still failed to avoid the tragedy of the fishermen. After realizing the huge gap in industrial development level with European and American countries, Zhang Haichao and Li Dongsheng went abroad to study and started a second business around navigation chips. They defeated their rival Brian with their superb skills, but encountered a broken capital chain at a critical moment. In order to protect Li Dongsheng, Zhang Haichao agreed to be acquired by Brian in an extinction-style manner and handed over the navigation chip patent to him.

The central government encouraged overseas students to return to China to start businesses. Zhang Haichao set sail again and decided to switch to communication chips and founded Lingxin Technology. At this time, Li Dongsheng also occupied half of the Huaqiangbei mobile phone market. The two of them fought for the road of independent innovation of Chinese chips and promoted the creation of Chinese standard formats for communication chips. Later, Zhang Haichao and Li Dongsheng retired from the front line of entrepreneurship and guided and promoted more young people in China to invest in the independent development of various application chips.
