Sony and British company team up to launch Gravity Rush movie adaptation

After games such as Uncharted, God of War, The Last of Us, Horizon, Ghost of Tsushima, Gran Turismo, and Days Gone were confirmed to be adapted into film and television works, Sony is stepping up the process of adapting its game IPs into films and television works. According to foreign media Deadline, PlayStation Productions and British film production company Scott Free Productions announced a partnership to launch a film adapted from the game Gravity Rush.

It is reported that the movie "Gravity Rush" will be directed by Anna Mastro, the director of "The Secret Order of Seconds", and Emily Jerome will be responsible for the script. The producer has not yet been announced, and it has not been confirmed whether the distributor will be Sony itself.

Although Gravity Rush and its sequel have been well received by players, the sales of the two works are not outstanding, and even the PS Japan Studio responsible for developing the series has been reorganized by Sony in 2021. However, judging from the confirmed release of the adapted movie, it seems that Sony has not given up on the Gravity Rush IP, and maybe a new work is already in development?
