Guillermo del Toro's new Netflix series 'Cabinet of Curiosities' premieres

Netflix has released the trailer for acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, an upcoming horror anthology that will premiere on the streaming service on October 25. Two new stories will debut between the 25th and 28th.

"With Cabinet of Curiosities, we set out to showcase the realities that exist outside of our normal world: the anomalies and curiosities. We have carefully selected and curated a group of stories and storytellers to deliver these stories, whether they come from outer space, paranormal lore, or simply in our minds," said Guillermo del Toro in the announcement. "Each of these eight stories is a fantastical glimpse into the cabinet of curiosities that exists beneath the reality we live in."

The eight-episode series will be released on Halloween, with six of them adapted from the classic horror genre the anthology is named after, and two of them being original works by del Toro himself. According to Netflix, del Toro has curated a series of "unprecedented and genre-defining stories designed to challenge our traditional notions of horror."
