Warner Bros. Discovery's ideas for DC Films are becoming clearer after CEO David Zaslav announced that there will be a codified plan for the future of DC Films. As part of Warner Bros. Discovery's quarterly earnings report, CEO David Zaslav took to the stage to answer questions about the company's future, especially in light of the cancellation of the $90 million Batgirl movie despite the film being largely completed. David Zaslav did not announce any more news about the cancellation of DC movies. He said the company had undergone a "reset" and would launch a ten-year plan for DC movies, similar to what Disney and Kevin Feige did for Marvel. "We've completed the reset. We've restructured the business where we're going to be focused, where there's going to be one team with a 10-year plan that's solely focused on DC, and it's very similar to the structure that Alan Horn, Bob Iger and Kevin Feige put together very effectively at Disney." Zaslav said the hope is to "build a long-term, stronger sustainable growth business from DC," and that the company will focus on quality rather than quantity. Zaslav cited films already in production, such as Black Adam, Shazam, and The Flash, saying the company is very excited about them, "We've seen them. We think they're great, and we think we can make them better." |
