Gran Turismo to be filmed by District 9 director

According to an exclusive report by Deadline, Sony's racing game "Gran Turismo" will be made into a live-action movie, directed by "District 9" director Neill Blomkamp, ​​and the project is currently in a very early stage of development.

There were previous reports that Sony was developing a live-action TV series of "Gran Turismo" for streaming, but Deadline said the news was not true .

"Gran Turismo 1" was launched in 1997. As of now, the series has sold more than 85 million copies. The latest game "Gran Turismo 7" was launched on PS4 and PS5 in March this year.

"Uncharted", a movie adapted from a game recently produced by Sony Pictures and PlayStation Production, was released on February 10 this year, opening at $44 million and taking in more than $400 million at the global box office.

In addition to Chariots of Fire, The Last of Us, and Ghost of Tsushima, there are reportedly 10 more PlayStation IPs being adapted into movies and TV series.
