Sega and Paramount Pictures recently announced that Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has surpassed the first film in global box office revenue. Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which stars Tails and Knuckles, has grossed $331 million worldwide, surpassing the original film's $319 million. It also became the highest-grossing video game adaptation in North America. Paramount has announced that it will film Sonic the Hedgehog 3, as well as a spin-off TV series featuring Knuckles. At the same time, "Sonic the Hedgehog" will also launch two new games this year, namely "Sonic: Origins" and "Sonic: Frontier", to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the series. |
