Justin Lin, director of several Fast & Furious movies, will no longer be directing Fast X, and production on the film has been suspended while the studio finds a new director. According to Deadline, Justin Lin, the director of "Fast & Furious 3: Tokyo Drift" and "Fast & Furious 4, 5, 6, 9", was originally scheduled to direct the two-part "Fast & Furious 10" and "Fast & Furious 11". However, although "Fast & Furious 10" has already started shooting, Lin will resign as director due to creative differences, but will remain the producer of the film. In a statement, Lin said: "With the support of Universal Pictures, I have made the difficult decision to step down as director of Fast & Furious 10 while continuing to serve as a producer on the project. On a personal note, as a child of Asian immigrants, I am proud to have created the most diverse franchise in film history." It is not yet clear who will replace Justin Lin, but there are currently multiple directors in talks for the "Fast & Furious" series, including "Fast & Furious 7" director James Wan. |
