The new Batman has been released in many countries, and the new Gotham City will expand from the big screen to the streaming TV service HBO Max. The company announced today that the spin-off about the Penguin will appear in the form of a limited series. Little other information is known about the show, but Colin Farrell will reprise the role of the iconic villain. It will be executive produced by Batman director Matt Reeves and Farrell, Dylan Clark and Lauren LeFranc, who will also be in charge of directing the series. Matt Reeves said in a statement: "Colin brought the Penguin to life on screen in Batman, and the opportunity to thoroughly explore that character's inner life on HBO Max is absolutely exciting. Dylan and I are thrilled to be working with Lauren to continue the story of Oz's fierce rise to power in Gotham." It's unclear when the new Penguin show will be fit for airing, or when it will hit HBO Max, but Farrell added: "I'm excited to have him back on the streets of Gotham and cause more madness and chaos." |
